Misunderstood

What do you do when your boss don't really like you and everything you say and do gets taken into a bad connotation?

Very simple really...change the boss or get a new boss, in life anything can be misunderstood. Many things are, whether one realizes it or not. It's just too bad that some of the most important things aren't understood by those who need to understand it most.

I agree, things in life are often misunderstood... hey, I feel misunderstood most of the time. And yes, some of the most important things aren't understood by those who need to the most. Hazard of being human. and sometimes its hard to see things when you are in it. I try my best to see every dimension (and people that know me can attest to that), but i am definitely not perfect.

in regards of the changing the boss...well, as easy as that may sound, its not always feasible. Bailing works, but i like to try to deal with it before having to move on.

For now, try your best to be understandable to your boss since he/she doesn't seem to get what you say. Some people are more difficult to connect with in the way that you want. Stick it out, but never settle for a work situation that doesn't make you feel comfortable. SFU is like UBC in that it's very possible to move to other positions if one isn't working out for you. Also you may want to look elsewhere for work.

It's not giving up. I think of it as choosing an environment that's best for my well-being.

    Bob
